Ever since the early 60’s when Phil Knight founded Nike, it has for a long time been a staple in athletic apparel and equipment. It is arguably the most reputable brand in footwear and is always a name you can trust when looking for a solid pair of sports sneakers. Their shoes tend to always lead the way in technology and features, just as Apple tends to do the same in smartphones and laptops.

Nike Metcon 2 Cross Training Shoes

Nike is truly an iconic brand. They have proven time and time again to release some of the most stylish, yet durable and comfortable shoes on the market.

Personally, I look to Nike first when buying a pair of athletic shoes as I value the comfort and support that their shoes provide. Also, it helps that I do enjoy the cutting edge designs that Nike offers as it is clear that Nike puts just as much emphasis on the overall look and style of the shoe as they do the superb features and quality that is the backbone of the shoe.

Reebok is the brand name behind CrossFit in apparel and events (CrossFit Games) and does offer some excellent shoes for CrossFit.  But when selecting the best CrossFit shoes in the industry, I seem to always go back to Nike.

They have ramped up there production in recent years and have really made a push to provide the some of the best CrossFit trainers out there and has become a heavyweight in this niche. In this clear and concise guide, we are going to lay out the best Nikes for CrossFit.

Best Nike CrossFit Shoes: Top 3 CrossFit Trainers Nike

Nike Metcon 2 Synthetic Trainers

Quite frankly, this is not just our favorite Nike CrossFit shoe, but it is our favorite CrossFit shoes of any brand. These shoes have it all and if you are looking for the best, well, we believe this is it.

Nike Women's Metcon 2 Training Shoe

The superb Flywire technology prevents slippage and keeps your feet from moving around in your shoe during your workout. Just like its predecessor, these shoes are wider than normal Nike's and seem to fit comfortably, without being a hindrance for those with narrow feet, like myself.

Many of the testers have found that with flat feet the arch support is excellent and is noticibly better than the other leading brands out there. It features a nice, breathable exterior and a flat bottom with a cushiony heel which ensures a comfortable workout when doing heavy lifting like squats or cleans.

Beyond that, you are almost guaranteed to find the style and colors that you like as there are over 20 different style and color combinations to choose from. Check them out below...

Nike Free Trainer 5.0 Training Shoe

Nike Free Trainer 5.0 NRG

These shoes are our editor’s choice for best value as they were selling for less than $70 at the time of this article. Beyond the stylish criss crossing banded designs, these Nike Free CrossFits offer excellent support at the heels where you need it most on heavy lifts.

The DiamondFlex outsole technology makes all the lateral, quick movements in different directions ideal for CrossFit or any lifting activity.

Keep in mind, the tongue is sewn into the shoe to ensure a snugger fit. This is ideal for an athletic shoe as we want to prevent as much movement as possible within the shoe. On the whole, Nike's tend to run about a half size smaller than other leading brands.

Nike Free Trainer 3.0 V4 Training Shoe

Nike Men's Free Trainer 3.0 V4 Training Shoe

These are yet another great pair of Nike Free for CrossFits for those looking for a clean, minimalist design and support.

Are you tired of wearing uncomfortable shoes? These Nike's minimalist thin foam layered tongue to ensure comfort underneath your laces.

They are extremely lightweight which makes them ideal for running activities (yes, this is a big part of CrossFit) while still offering the right support and protection for the heavy lifting. For those looking for a nice, lightweight and versatile training and running shoe, we believe this is your go to shoe.

HONORABLE MENTION

Nike Metcon 1 Cross Trainer

Nike Men's Metcon 1 Cross Trainer

This was the original design from our Top Choice so we decided to give it our honorable mention after reviewing it thoroughly.  Chances are you can still get these shoes at a little bit of a discount from the newest Metcons which also makes this a "Best Value" candidate.

Again, these excellent shoes feature the outstanding Flyware technology to help support the arch of your feet while still ensuring a nice, lightweight feel. It has a firm, flat heel and wider sole which as mentioned really, really helps out with those heavy lifts above your head.

For those looking for a great addition to their workouts and prefer a wider pair, these just might be what you were looking for.

To Sum It All Up

We believe that the best CrossFit shoes Nike makes surpasses the competition including CrossFit’s top brand, Reebok.  Not only done Nike produce the best athletic shoes on the market, but also some of the best CrossFit trainers you can buy.  In fact, we rated the Nike Metcon 2’s as our #1 CrossFit shoe.

However, we wanted to make sure to take into consideration each ones budget and offered some equally great options for those looking for something cheaper or minimal. When you are comparing shoes, we always recommend going with a brand you can trust and that is why we consider these offerings lists as some of the best Nike shoes for CrossFit.
